Energy Education is Real Need

The U.S. Senate has started debate on its version of the House's American Clean Energy and Savings Act (ACES), also referred to as cap-and-trade legislation.  This legislation intends to set new energy policy for the United States.

But will this really change how the real policy makers -- we, the people -- use energy? Each of us makes our own decisions about how we use energy.  We set our own personal energy policy.  The sum of all our personal policies dictates how America uses energy.

If the Senate were to add an education requirement to the legislation, America would be on a path to really change our energy policy, thus meeting the goals of the legislation by addressing the correct policy makers - all of us.
