Fun Fundraisers

Two southern Utah senators are holding offbeat fundraising events this Saturday, conveniently timed so that supporters can attend both of them on a southern Utah swing.

Sen. Stephen Urquhart is holding his Second Annual Croquet Open from 9-11 a.m. at the St. George Town Square (50 S. Main). A mailed postcard invitation says, “Now that the session is over, it’s time to restore civility . . . croquet anyone?”

Later that afternoon, Sen. Dennis Stowell, from Parowan, is holding a fundraiser at the Parowan Gap, where participants will enjoy the “Spring Equinox Sunset.” ...
