Patriot's Day 4th of July Tea Party
NEWS ITEM ... PRESS RELEASE
Orem, UT – 4 June 2009: This Independence Day will be full of barbeques and fireworks. But for some Utah Conservatives of all political parties, it’s more than a day of celebration; it’s a day of action.
The Patriot Day Tea Party will be held July 4th in Orem at Lakeridge Junior High’s football field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is an opportunity for citizens to speak out in support of the Constitution while being inspired by a selection of speakers and musicians.
“There is no better way to celebrate America’s Independence Day than fighting for our freedom,” says event organizer Candace Salima. “We must maintain the Constitution as the rule of law in America. This is what our Tea Party is all about. Demanding that our voices be heard.”
In addition to the voices of concerned citizens, there is a lineup of speakers and performers, including Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, Representative Brad Daw, Candace E. Salima and up-and-coming singer Shaun Barrowes, Angela Winston, One Voice Childrens Jill Camp Swensen and Ryann Race of "So You Think You Can Dance".
“Bring your blankets, bring your signs and make your voices heard,” says Salima. “We invite the public to take a break from their festivities for a time and stand together to defend this great nation.”
