Chamber Praises Budget Proposal
The Salt Lake Chamber commends Gov. Herbert "for presenting a responsible budget for FY 2011 that contains no general tax increase, preserves funding for public and higher education and maintains ongoing funding for road projects." Says Chamber Pres. Lane Beattie: "The challenge is to balance the budget in a manner that propels our economic recovery and positions us as an economic leader among states, and this budget does that. The business community is especially pleased that the governor has strengthened Utah's long-term economic competitiveness by protecting public and higher education from further cuts next year" (see press release).
