"Getting out the Vote" and "Listening to the People"
(Note: UtahPolicy.com has invited Mike Winder and Kevin Fayles, two candidates for mayor of West Valley City to share their campaign experiences this year. To read earlier posts and biographies of the two candidates, see the Campaign Journal page.)
Kevin Fayles: ‘Twas the week before Primary and all through the house, every creature was scurrying—even the mouse! (Well, maybe not the mouse because we have cats who take care of that problem.) Yes, things are extremely busy at Fayles Campaign Headquarters (a.k.a. “the kitchen”).
Mike Winder: Last Wednesday was the “Meet the Candidate Night” in West Valley City at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. It is a wonderful circus of democracy when all the candidates come together, and the public can meet the men and women behind the many campaign signs they see every day (we have 19 candidates for four offices in WVC this year, so it’s a rather crazy season).
