Hatch: Stimulus Plan has Failed

Sen. Orrin Hatch says of the Dept. of Labor's announcement that the nation's unemployment rate has hit 10.2 percent: "President Obama's economic advisors warned in January that without the stimulus bill, unemployment would hit 8.5 percent this year. Well, they got their stimulus bill and we just learned that unemployment reached 10.2 percent in October, the highest it has been in 26 years. Despite assurances that the stimulus would inoculate us from high unemployment, everyone knew this half-baked legislation was a recipe for failure -- and today the numbers prove it" (see Hatch and related Bishop press releases).
