Mini-Editorial: Avoid Extremism and Harsh Rhetoric in Politics

For conservatives, plenty of solid policy-based reasons exist to oppose a lot of the priorities and policies of the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress.

But Obama's birthplace is not among those reasons. And neither are any of the other wild conspiracy theories being trafficked in right-wing circles.

Conservatives who tilt into the realm of extremism do a great injustice to their party and they damage the chances of Republicans being elected and retaking control of Congress.

America is a center-right nation, and conservatives outnumber liberals in America. But that could change if conservatives are viewed as right-wing lunatics.
