More Healthcare and What Does "Un-American" Mean?

Sarah Day: Health care continues to be debated on multiple fronts without necessarily a lot of light being shed on the issue. A respondent to my last article on health care asked for documentation on why I had said things could get worse if we only fixed a part of the problem. Much of the discussion has been centering around insurance reform without actually getting at delivery system reform or payment reform which is what is needed to control cost.

 

Drew Conrad:

On the heels of the Yes on 8' victory in California last November, Tom Hanks, a liberal Hollywood elitist, made this mind-boggling statement: "a lot of Mormons gave a lot of money to the church to make Prop-8 happen. There are a lot of people who feel that is un-American, and I am one of them." Not only was Mr. Hanks' statement utterly and completely inaccurate, it also gives unique insight into the popular elitist buzzword, un-American.
