News Analysis: Does Utah's Caucus-Convention Nominating System Disenfranchise Mainstream Voters?

A new Dan Jones & Associates Poll for the Deseret News and KSL-TV shows that both Republican and Democratic delegates to the respective state conventions hold views that are more extreme than the rank-and-file members of the two political parties.

Some people believe the survey shows political parties should change the candidate nominating system to reduce the clout of grassroots activists in nominating candidates.
