Predicting 2010

A new year seemingly brings endless possibilities.  We asked our political insiders to put on their prognostication hats and makes some predictions about the coming year in Utah politics. 

Republicans seem confident that Gary Herbert will win this year’s special election and remain as Utah’s Governor, while only half of Democrats think that will happen. 

Both Republicans and Democrats think that the legislature is unlikely to overturn Salt Lake City’s housing and jobs anti-discrimination ordinance, but more Republicans than Democrats think lawmakers will pass meaningful ethics reform during the 2010 general session.
