Republicans Move Ahead in 2010 Vote

A new Gallup poll shows that Republicans have taken a small lead in the generic congressional ballot for next year's midterm elections. That gain is up two points from last month and six points from July.

The Republican gains are coming from independent voters, who favor Republicans by a 52-30% margin. That independent support has jumped from 1 point in July to the current 22 point advantage.
