The Week Ahead

This mid-August week is a big one for politics. Utah formally gets a new governor on Tuesday. Gary R. Herbert will be inaugurated as Utah's 17th governor. Gov. Jon M. Huntsman will deliver his farewell address before heading to China as the U.S. ambassador.

The events begin at noon in the Capitol Rotunda. Doors open at 11 a.m. and attendees should be seated by 11:45.

On the policy front, the Constitutional Revision Commission (see agenda) and the Tax Review Commission (see agenda) meet on Thursday.  A number of other interesting political events occur this week. Read about them in the UtahPolicy.com calendar.
