Nominees announced for 6th District Juvenile Court vacancy

 

The 6th District Judicial Nominating Commission has selected nominees for a vacancy on the 6th District Juvenile Court. 

The vacancy results from the retirement of Judge Paul Lyman, effective Dec. 31, 2017.  The 6th Judicial District includes Garfield, Kane, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne counties.  

The nominees for the vacancy are: Dale Eyre, county attorney, Sevier County; Brody Keisel, county attorney, Sanpete County; Mandy Larsen, attorney, Mandy Larsen PC, deputy county attorney, Sevier County; Mark McIff, justice court judge, Sevier County, Piute County, Fairview City, Fountain Green City, Spring City; Todd Sessions, owner, Law Office of Todd Sessions, LLC.

Written comments can be submitted to the 6th District Judicial Nominating Commission at [email protected] or Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice, P.O. Box 142330, Salt Lake City, UT 84114-2330.  The deadline for written comments is noon Nov. 13, 2017. The Nominating Commission may request further information or conduct an investigation of the nominees after reviewing public comments.  After the public comment period, the names will be sent to Gov. Gary R. Herbert, who will have 30 days to make an appointment. Gov. Herbert’s appointee is subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
