What do Gayle Ruzicka & the Village Voice Have in Common?

PUMP, an eye-opening documentary that tells the story of America’s foreign oil addiction and explains clearly how we can end it, is being released in limited markets, including Salt Lake on September 26 at the Jordan Commons Megaplex.

The documentary is the work of the Fuel Freedom Foundation which is being run by a political odd couple, former Republican and Democratic Party chairs Joe Cannon, CEO and President, and Donald Dunn, Executive VP of Development.

Several of the first screenings feature panel discussions with Utahns from opposite sides of the political aisle discussing why they support increasing competition at the pump. The September 26 screenings at 4:50 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. will feature Gayle Ruzicka, Utah Eagle Forum; Robert “Bud” McFarlane, former National Security Advisor to President Reagan; and Joe Cannon. September 27’s 7:15 p.m. screening will feature Dale Cox, President of the Utah AFL-CIO, and Jonathan Johnson, President of Overstock.com. All panels are moderated by Donald Dunn.

Thanks to a very generous donor who supports Fuel Freedom, Utahpolicy.com and UtahPulse.com readers are being offered complimentary tickets for the PUMP opening this weekend. This special opportunity is available to the first 50 people who RSVP by sending an email to [email protected]. PUMP has been favorably reviewed by a variety of outlets including Sean Hannity, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post, Variety,Bloomberg Business WeekandThe Village Voice.

Salt Lake City is a premier market for the film because the Fuel Freedom Foundation has selected Utah as one of three states to conduct a pilot project to introduce fuel competition at the pump.  This project is a partnership between the Fuel Freedom Foundation, the Governor’s Office of Energy Development and many other stakeholders. The Governor announced the project at his June Energy Development Summit.

The film features notable experts such as John Hofmeister, former President of Shell Oil US; Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors; Peter Goldmark, former President of the Rockefeller Foundation; and other figures who share their passionate views and knowledge. The public showings at Jordan Commons in Sandy will run from September 26 to October 2.
