LEO After Hours: The Science of Fear

What happens inside your brain and body when you are afraid? What causes this feeling and reaction? When do normal fears become neuroses, and why do we seek out the things that scare us?

The next installment of Leo After Hours, presented by The Leonardo and the Utah Science Technology and Research agency (USTAR), will be held on October 22 at 6:00 p.m. at The Leonardo. After Hours: Science of Fearwill feature a conversation between a panel of experts on what causes fear and how brains process it.

The panel includes Jeanine K. Stefanucci, Ph.D. and associate professor in the department of psychology at the University of Utah and Cydney Neil, producer and creative director of Rocky Point Haunted House.  Salt Lake Tribune journalist Jennifer Napier-Pearce will moderate the event.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and food and drink will be available for purchase. After Hours is free to attend, but space is limited and pre-registration is recommended. To register, please visit theleonardo.org.
