Owens’ Fundraising More than Doubles from 2014

Doug Owens 03Democrat Doug Owens pulled in a little more than $450,000 during the last fundraising quarter. An impressive number for sure, but it’s slightly more than a third of what Republican Mia Love raised during the same period.

Owens also has $344,062 in cash on hand for the final campaign stretch. The bad news for him is Love has nearly 3.5 times as much money in her campaign coffers now.

Owens reported total receipts from the last quarter of $459,315. $82,000 of that came from Political Action Committees.

Owens also spent just over $1 million in the last quarter, leaving him with $344,000 in the bank.

Mia Love raised more than $1.4 million last quarter while spending $1.7 million.

So far this election cycle, Love has pulled in more than $4.5 million while spending $3.975 million.

Owens has raised just $1.9 million this cycle while spending $1,544,000. The total for Owens in 2016 is more than double what he raised and spent during his 2014 challenge to Love.

In 2014, Love raised $5.3 million and spent $5.1 million while Owens raised and spent a total of $866,000.

Outside groups are also poised to play heavily in Utah’s 4th District. Two Republican-aligned PACs are set to dump $500,000 for advertising to support Love’s re-election bid, while the Democratic House Majority PAC reserved $383,000 in ad time to boost Owens.
