Real Women Run Offers Training For Women Looking Use Their Voice in 2017 and Beyond

Real Women Run LogoReal Women Run has two upcoming events for those who want to use their voice to work for change in their community, work on political campaigns, or are considering running for office: the Real Women Run Winter Training on January 14 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM at Salt Lake Community College, Miller Campus, and Celebrating the Political Kaleidoscope, for diverse women candidates, on January 13

All are welcome at the full-day Winter Training, which will feature a keynote address by Patricia Russo, Executive Director of the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. Local expert panelists and speakers will share insights about leadership, volunteering, campaigning, and serving on boards and commissions.

Breakout sessions include:

  • ·Are We Making Progress With Women in Utah Politics? Facts, Figures, and Fallacies
  • ·How to Get Involved: Get Yourself on a Board, Commission, or Special District
  • ·Making a Difference: Non-profit & Community Engagement
  • ·The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: A Behind the Scenes Look at a Real Campaign
  • ·Find Your Voice and Build Your Brand

Cost of this full-day event, which includes lunch, is only $25 for adults and $15 for students.

Women of color and those of the LGBTQ community often face additional challenges and opportunities when they enter the world of politics. Diverse women are invited to attend Celebrating the Political Kaleidoscope for a candid and supportive conversation about being as prepared as possible when you are running for office or applying for community leadership positions on January 13, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at YWCA Utah.
