Oh, ugh! A new poll shows just how unpopular Congress is right now.Â
Just 6% of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing. That number includes 10% of Democrats, 7% of Republicans and 3% of independents.
That number in the Economist/YouGov survey matches the all-time low going back to 2009.
The same survey finds Americans are split right down the middle about the recent change to Senate rules that eliminates the filibuster for appointees and some judicial nominees. 34% say that was a good rule, while 34% disagreed with the 60-vote threshold to end the filibuster. 36% agreed with changing the rule while 37% did not.
Both Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell did not do well in the survey as both men have an unfavorable rating above 50%.
