Americans only trust their local government to provide competent service, but it’s still not a majority who feel that way.
The latest survey from YouGov finds 48% say they trust their local government to provide services, while only 43% trust state government and 31% trust the feds.
Broken down by political leaning, Democrats trust the federal government much more than Republicans and independents.
Surprisingly, only 35% of Democrats trust state governments, while 56% of independents and 57% of Republicans do.
