Rep. Jason Chaffetz wasted little time on Tuesday reacting to a report that President Trump asked FBI Director James Comey to end the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
The New York Times reported on Tuesday that Comey wrote a memo shortly after meeting with Trump that claimed the president told him, “I hope you can let this go,” referring to the investigation into links between Flynn and Russia.
Chaffetz tweeted on Tuesday that he was ready to subpoena the memo “sooner rather than later.”
.@GOPoversight is going to get the Comey memo, if it exists. I need to see it sooner rather than later. I have my subpoena pen ready.
