Well, you can’t get much more of a populace split than this: 49 percent of Utahns say the way GOP President Donald Trump is acting is making them nervous about the future of the United States.
While 49 percent say Trump’s actions are not making them nervous about America’s future, a recent UtahPolicy.com poll shows.
It’s statistical tie, found by UtahPolicy.com’s pollster Dan Jones & Associates.
Of course, like everything Trump-related, your politics depend on your feelings about the controversial new president.
- 60 percent of Utah Republicans say they are not nervous about the country’s future, while 30 percent say they are.
- 91 percent of Democrats admit to being made nervous by Trump, only 7 percent are not.
- And political independents are worried about Trump, 58-39 percent.
Younger Utahns worry about Trump more than do their parents and grandparents:
- Those 18-24 years old say Trump makes them nervous about our future, 63-38 percent.
- Those 25-34 admit the president makes them nervous, 62-35 percent.
- But those 65 and older, not so much. Fifty-seven percent say they are not nervous about America’s future with Trump as president, 40 percent say they are.
Trump has problems with women across the country – and in Utah, as well.
- 53 percent of Utah women say Trump makes them nervous about our future, while 45 percent disagree.
- But men are surer of Trump, 54 percent say they are not nervous about the future with Trump, 43 percent say they are.
Jones polled 607 Utahns from May 31 to June 5. The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.98 percent.
