Democratic Senate candidate Jenny Wilson’s fundraising has been remarkably consistent since she jumped into the U.S. Senate race in July.
In each of the three fundraising quarters since she’s been an official candidate, Wilson has pulled in somewhere between $124,500 and $155,000. During the most recent quarter, Wilson’s campaign reports approximately $124,500 in donations, leaving them with $124,000 in available funds in their campaign account.
The campaign tells UtahPolicy.com that 78% of their donations have come from inside of Utah, and nearly 90% of are under $200.
The good news for Wilson is overshadowed by the impending entrance of Republican Mitt Romney into the race. Romney tweeted on Thursday that he would make an announcement about the U.S. Senate race on February 15. It would be a complete shock if he declined to run, especially since there have been multiple reports about Romney making preparations for a campaign. Just last week, Romney met with advisers at his Holladay mansion to plot out policy positions ahead of a run.
Libertarian Craig Bowden, Democratic candidate Mitchell Vice and Republican candidate Larry Meyers had not yet filed their year-end financial disclosures with the FEC.
