Gov. Gary Herbert reportedly told a group of prominent Republican political operatives he was planning on a run for another term as Utah’s Governor in 2016.
The Salt Lake Tribune quotes a source who was at the breakfast who says Herbert is definitely running.
He was saying there’s a lot of speculation out there, people are talking about this. I just want to be very clear: I am running. I am announcing that today,” said a source who attended the breakfast who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the meeting.
Previously, Herbert told UtahPolicy.com he would make a decision on running for another term sometime this summer.
