Americans Tweeted the Word ‘Nazi’ a Lot When Germany Scored in the World Cup

American soccer fans weren’t shy about throwing around the word “Nazi” during the World Cup soccer match between the United States and Germany.

Deadspin’s Reuben Fischer-Baum did some data mining to find out when American Twitter users used the word during the game. This chart is amazing…

He found that Americans tweeted “Nazi” 30,209 times, or 3.4 times per second during the match.

When the Germans scored, the use of “Nazi” spiked to 20 times per second.
