Mia Love tries to tie her opponent to Barack Obama in a new television ad hitting Utah's airwaves.
Love's ad features an Obama speech where he says he's "not on the ballot" but his policies are, with the implication that a vote for Democratic candidates is a vote for his agenda.
Love responds that she's running to represent Utah and not support Obama. It doesn't take much of a leap to realize she's accusing her opponent (without naming him) of being an Obama shill.
Love's campaign manager Dave Hansen tells UtahPolicy.com that the ad is not a response to a recent poll showing Democrat Doug Owens with a lead over his candidate. Rather, they say the commercial has been in the works for a couple of weeks.
