Chaffetz: Congress Needs a ‘Fresh Start’

Rep. Jason Chaffetz says he would bring a fresh perspective to Congress if he wins his long-shot bid for Speaker of the House.

On ABC News' "This Week" Chaffetz says the House is too dysfunctional, and new leadership would go a long way toward fixing that.

"We need a fresh start. We have a gulf and a divide that needs to be bridged. We need a speaker, I think, who takes the communications realm and drives the discussion in this country about what it is we're standing for and what it is we're trying to do," said the four-term Republican and Chair of the House Oversight Committee.

Chaffetz said he would drop his bid for Speaker if Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan were to step into the race.
