Washington, DC---This morning the House Republican Conference ratified the appointment of Congressman Jason Chaffetz to the House Committee on the Budget. This new assignment is in addition to Chaffetz’ already announced committee appointments: Oversight and Government Reform and the Judiciary. The Committee on the Budget is chaired by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI).
Congressman Chaffetz said regarding his appointment to the Committee on the Budget, “I am thrilled by this appointment. I am looking forward to working with Chairman Ryan, and my other colleagues on the committee, to rein in government spending, balance the federal budget, and pay down the national debt. There is no more important work for this Congress than addressing the fiscal health of our nation. Right now, it is a mess.”
