EDCUtah's annual meeting is next week! It is sure to be an exciting, entertaining, information-filled event. I look forward to greeting you there and hope you have reserved your table or your seat for this event. For table sponsorship, please call Art Franks, our director of membership, (801) 323-4242. For individual seats, please call Maria Sanders, (801) 328-8824.

The day following EDCUtah's annual meeting another major event takes place in Sandy. It's the Pushbutton Summit 2011, which runs Oct. 13-15 in the Southtown Expo Center and Jordan Commons. Pushbutton is the premier digital media event centered on the intersection of the creativity and technology. Presented by Grow Utah Ventures, PushButton will feature dozens of first-class lectures, panels, and presentations focusing on the creative application of disruptive technologies. Industry experts from EA, Epic Games, Sony Online, Digital Domain and other innovators and entrepreneurs will be at the event, where they will showcase their practices, vision and plans to lead the future. Click on the following graphic for more details, or click here to register.

Another noteworthy opportunity taking place right now has to do with the Leonardo –- Salt Lake City's new cultural hub. The Leonardo fuses science, technology and art to explore today's technologies, innovations, discoveries, ideas, and art forms and shines a light on curiosity. The Leonardo is currently trying to raise money through an Individual Giving Campaign. This facility is important to our quality of life and we encourage all of our readers and partners to consider making a donation to this worthy cause.

Finally, I can't pass up the opportunity to congratulate the University of Utah's Technology Venture Development for another outstanding year. Here's a video annual report that explores the economic impact of commercialization at the U. Watch and learn about job creation and innovative products from Larada Sciences and Catheter Connections.
