In the coming years, Salt Lake County will become increasingly Democratic as a result of the growth of the Hispanic communtiy and the increasing urbanization of Salt Lake City.

The actions of the Republicans on immigration and voter suppression will only serve to accelerate the rate of change in favor of the Democrats.

The aging of the population of Salt Lake County will contribute to the increase in votes for Democrats unless the Republicans move to protect Social Security and Medicare from cuts in benefits.

Remember that the growth of the Republicans in Utah County partially results from the movement of the Republicans out of Salt Lake County.
