China-U.S. Technology Cooperation and Trade are Focus of Upcoming CAST-UT Conference

The Chinese Association for Science and Technology in Utah (CAST-UT) will be hosting their fifth convention on Saturday, March 3rd, 2012, at the Sheraton Hotel, 150 West, 500 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.  The keynote speaker will be Dr. Vivian S. Lee, Senior Vice President for Health Sciences from University of Utah, while guest speakers include Lt. Governor Greg Bell, and representatives from the Chinese Embassy. Two panel discussions will focus on China-US technology cooperation and international trade. In addition, CAST-UT will continue to award scholarships to outstanding local high school students.



CAST-UT is a non-profit, non-political organization, founded in Salt Lake City in 1996 and dedicated to promoting communication and mutual understanding between the US and China. The three major missions include:

 

  • promoting exchanges and cooperation between US and China in culture, science & technology, education, and business & trade;
  • promoting traditional Chinese culture as well as mutual understanding between Chinese and American people;
  • promoting unity, exchange, and cooperation among Chinese students and professionals in the US so as to better serve the Chinese community



The annual convention is one of the most important annual events of CAST-UT and it continues to engage a broad audience of organizations, business associates and professionals from universities, business enterprises and governments in both the U.S. and China.
