Gov. Gary Herbert is poised to narrowly avoid a primary election at Saturday's GOP state convention.

A UtahPolicy.com survey of 323 delegates finds Herbert with 61% total support from delegates. The closest any challenger comes to Herbert is Morgan Philpot with 14% support. David Kirkham is at 11% with Ken Sumsion at 8%. 6% of delegates say they are undecided.

Editor's note - The unscientific survey was conducted via email April 17-19.
