Continuing his role as conservative kingmaker, Sen. Mike Lee endorsed Rep. Connie Mack IV in the Florida Senate Republican primary race.

Roll Call says Lee is the latest to jump behind Mack in the race, who has also scored endorsements from Mitt Romney and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul. Mack is favored to beat former Senator George LeMieux in the August primary election. The winner will face incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson, who is the odds-on favorite to win another term in November.

“Connie Mack’s fight to protect our constitutional freedoms and cut the size and scope of the federal government has been a hallmark of his service to the people of Florida,” Lee said in a statement released by the Mack campaign. “Having Connie’s voice in the U.S. Senate will greatly enhance our ability to not only stop Harry Reid and Bill Nelson’s liberal agenda, but to return our nation to a path of constitutionally limited government, more individual liberty, and greater prosperity.”
