Did the LDS Church Swipe McAdams' Advertising Theme?

It's probably unintentional, but there's something strikingly similar between Ben McAdams' advertising campaign and a push by the LDS Church to show Mormons aren't just Republicans.

Look at this billboard from McAdams:

Here's the image from the LDS Church-owned page Mormon Topics.

Same orange color and similar fonts on both.

McAdams was unaware of the similarities until Utah Policy pointed it out to him.

"I appreciate the leadership of my church is encouraging people to vote for person, not party. It's true that Mormons are much more diverse than many would think or, as I would say, 'yeah, we're different."

McAdams says he's been using the orange color and font for three years, first in a run for his current Senate seat. Is he worried about the church co-opting his imagery?

"I'd be surprised if there's anything more than a coincidence here, but maybe the Church would allow me to pay 9% tithing next year in lieu of royalties."

Just because there are different kinds of races in the Mormon reliogion doesn't change its bigoted record or beliefs towards other FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS. And don't forget there participation in Prop 8 or as I like to call it Prop H8!
