A New York Times/CBS News poll finds that 40% of Americans have an unfavorable view of the Tea Party, which is the highest they've recorded since they started asking the question in April of 2010. The group's favorable rating is also the second lowest they've ever seen at just 20%.
43% of Americans also think the Tea party has too much influence in the Republican Party, which is the highest number they've seen since February of 2010.
Just 18% say they the are a supporter of the Tea Party movement, which ties the lowest mark set back in April of 2010. 73% say they do not support the Tea Party, which is the highest number they've seen.
