In this episode, Managing Editor Bryan Schott has questions for Steve Boulay, co-owner of Magicspace Entertainment, the group responsible for bringing touring Broadway shows to Utah.
Boulay talks about how the new downtown SLC theater allowed his group to book the touring production of “Hamilton” for 2017, jumping ahead of other big cities. He also says the new theater has allowed him to start negotiating to bring big touring productions to Utah for the next 5 years.
He also says the new downtown theater benefits everyone because Salt Lake City’s creative community is one of the most active in the West and everyone deserves access to the arts.
Boulay also discusses his role as a voter for the Tony Awards and how he approaches that responsibility.
