White Nationalist Slams McMullin in Robocall to Utah Voters (with audio)

Evan McMullin 06A white nationalist who supports Donald Trump has launched a robocall in Utah slamming the independent candidate’s personal life.

The robocall from William Johnson, head of the American Freedom Party, attacks McMullin’s mother, who is a lesbian, and suggests McMullin may be gay too. The American Freedom Party is considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The organization advocates for deporting immigrants and returning the U.S. to white rule.

The ad says:

“Hello, My name is William Johnson,” the audio recording begins. “I am a farmer and a white nationalist. I make this call against Evan McMullin and in support of Donald Trump.

“Evan McMullin is an open borders, amnesty supporter.

“Evan has two mommies. His mother is a lesbian, married to another woman. Evan is okay with that. Indeed Evan supports the Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage.

“Evan is over 40 years old and is not married and doesn’t even have a girlfriend. I believe Evan is a closet homosexual.

“Don’t vote for Evan McMullin. Vote for Donald Trump. He will respect all women and be a president we can all be proud of.”

The Los Angeles Times reports the ad is targeting conservative religious voters in Utah.

The robocall beginning Monday seeks to sway Utah’s conservative religious electorate by highlighting McMullin’s personal life; after his parents divorced, his mother married a woman.

“Evan has two mommies,” the ad says. “His mother is a lesbian, married to another woman.  Evan is OK with that.”

The ads also suggest McMullin is a “closet homosexual.”

Polling shows McMullin is threatening to take Utah’s six electoral votes away from Trump.
