Governor appoints Weilenmann School Director to State Charter School Board

Gov. Gary R. Herbert announced that he has appointed Park City’s Weilenmann School of Discovery Executive Director Cynthia K. Phillips to the Utah State Charter School Board.

In addition to her work with Weilenmann, Phillips is a Ph.D. candidate in comparative languages and cultural studies at the University of Utah and has taught at Waterford School and Weilenmann.

Phillips of Sandy replaces Robert Enger of Riverdale on the Board. Enger, who once served as a member of Herriman’s Providence Hall governing board, resigned from the State Charter School Board in March.

The Utah State Charter School Board is appointed by the Governor and consists of seven members, two who have finance or business management experience, three who have charter school experience, and two members nominated by the Utah State Board of Education.
