The first Salt Lake Comic Con was a rousing success, shattering attendance records for the first year of that type of event and drawing attendees from 33 states.
Founder and Producer Dan Farr recently announced a second event, “Fan X,” happening in April, which will feature stars from The Walking Dead and Star Trek: The Next Generation among others.
Farr and Vice President of Marketing Bryan Brandenburg sit down with Managing Editor Bryan Schott to discuss what kind of economic impact the event means for Utah (hint: it’s pretty big), and how they are close to outgrowing the capacity of the Salt Palace in just their second year of existence. In fact, the convention is beginning to rival the Outdoor Retailers in terms of sheer size.
Would a convention center hotel help the event draw even more visitors?
