Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), the senior member and former Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement regarding the nomination of Dr. Matthew Harris to serve as the US Marshal for the District of Utah.
“With the nomination of Dr. Matthew Harris to serve as the next US Marshal for the District of Utah, our state has reason to celebrate,” Hatch said. “Dr. Harris is a superbly qualified nominee with nearly two decades of federal law enforcement experience. Not only does he have a proven record as an investigator; he has also distinguished himself as a senior manager in three different executive agencies. As a US Marshal, Dr. Harris will apply the lessons learned over a lifetime in law enforcement to prosecute dangerous criminals and keep our communities safe.”
