Fox files: ‘Spirit of service’

Like many of you, I’ve been deeply concerned about the fires in Southern Utah County, Juab County, Tooele, and Southern Salt Lake County this weekend.

As a Utahn, I have such gratitude and am so humbled by the firefighters and other emergency personnel who have put their own lives at risk to save the homes and lives of others.

At EDCUtah, we get to share some of the things that make Utah an amazing place, and this weekend was an extreme example of what makes Utah unique. I learned that of the 6,000 evacuees of the Pole Canyon Fire, not a single one had to spend the night in a shelter. The generosity of friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers made that possible. We really live in an amazing place and are so fortunate that spirit of service is a part of us.
