4th District update: Love narrows gap with McAdams while he pledges not to support Pelosi

Democrat Ben McAdams’ lead over incumbent Republican Mia Love is just 873 votes after the latest numbers were released by Salt Lake County on Wednesday. The gap between the two candidates has narrowed significantly since last week.

On Wednesday, Love’s campaign sued Salt Lake County election officials in an effort to stop the count of outstanding and provisional ballots. They claim there is no process for challenging signatures on those ballots. A hearing on the case is scheduled for Thursday.

Meanwhile, McAdams reportedly joined 16 other Democrats in Washington, D.C. in signing a letter pledging not to support Nancy Pelosi’s bid to become Speaker. The Huffington Post reported on Wednesday that McAdams’ is part of the group opposing Pelosi. There is another group of Democrats who are opposed to giving Pelosi the Speaker’s gavel but are reluctant to sign on to the letter.
