Gov. Herbert appoints Kelly Pehrson to serve as interim manager of Utah Department of Agriculture and Food

Following Commissioner Kerry Gibson’s announcement that he will step down from his position at the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) to run for Congress, Gov. Herbert has appointed Kelly Pehrson as interim manager of the department, effective immediately.

Kelly has most recently served as deputy director at UDAF, in which time he has had oversight over agency budgets, human resources, and other administrative affairs.

“I’m grateful to Commissioner Gibson for his service to the state, and I respect his decision to run for office,” said Gov. Gary R. Herbert. “I’m also thankful to Kelly Pehrson for stepping into this role so that operations at the Department of Agriculture and Food can continue uninterrupted.”
