The Hatch Center—the policy arm of the Orrin G. Hatch Foundation—  announced Saturday evening that it would be hosting an event with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The announcement came at the Utah premiere of a new documentary sponsored by the Hatch Center on the Justice’s life, “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words.”

“I’m thrilled that Justice Clarence Thomas has accepted my invitation to come to Utah,” said Orrin G. Hatch, Chairman Emeritus. “Justice Thomas is the American Dream personified. Born into poverty during an era of intense racial segregation, he rose from the lowest conditions to the highest court in the land—a testament to the strength of his character and the sheer force of his intellect. He is everything a jurist should be: wise, restrained, and wholly dedicated to saying what the law is, not what he wishes it to be. I look forward to welcoming a dear friend and a devoted guardian of our Constitution.”

The event will be held May 15 at the Grand America in Salt Lake City, Utah. To receive more information on ticket availability, please email events@orrinhatchfoundation.org.
