Governor appoints Representative Logan Wilde as the new commissioner for the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food

Gov. Gary R. Herbert has announced the appointment of Rep. Logan Wilde as the commissioner of the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food.

“Logan Wilde is the perfect fit for this position,” the governor said. “He is a great leader, and as a rancher himself, his expertise in agriculture will greatly benefit the department. I look forward to working with him in this new role.”

From 1998 to now Wilde has worked as a managing partner at M.R. Wilde and Sons. He served as chair of the Morgan County Council, and as chairman of the Weber-Morgan Board of Health. In 2016, he was elected to serve in the Utah House of Representatives.

“My love for Utah, its people, its values, and its potential has increased exponentially,” said Wilde. “I am extremely excited to serve in this new capacity, and feel honored to do so. I thank Governor Herbert for his trust in me and will do my best to ensure the best quality of life for all Utahns.”

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
