Sen. Mitt Romney said Tuesday he had tested negative for coronavirus, but would remain in quarantine for 14 days.

“Thankfully I’ve tested negative for COVID-19,” Romney tweeted on Tuesday. “Nevertheless, guidance from my physician, consistent with the CDC guidelines, requires me to remain in quarantine as the test does not rule out the onset of symptoms during the 14-day period.”

Romney entered into self-quarantine after Sen. Rand Paul said he had tested positive for the coronavirus and Romney had been in contact with him in the days before his test came back positive. Sen. Mike Lee is also in quarantine following contact with Sen. Paul.
