Republican congressional candidate Blake Moore is the first out of the gate with television ads ahead of the June 30th primary election.
Moore is planning to spend $100,000 on the ads that will begin running on Wednesday. The commercial will air on Fox News as well as local channels in the state. The commercial is scheduled to run for 16 days.
The ad highlights Moore’s football career and his work in the U.S. Foreign Service. He also makes mention of the current coronavirus pandemic, without specifically naming the virus, and cites China as a threat to the U.S.
Moore finished in second place at the recent GOP convention behind former Utah Commissioner of Agriculture Kerry Gibson to secure his spot in the June GOP primary. He joins Davis County Commissioner Bob Stevenson and Kaysville Mayor Katie Witt on the ballot.
The winner of the June 30th primary election to replace retiring Rep. Rob Bishop will be the heavy favorite to win in November. The district is as R+26 by the Cook Political Report, making it one of the most heavily Republican in the country.
