Representative Lou Shurtliff (D, Ogden) has been hospitalized with pneumonia and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. House Minority Leader Brian King tweeted that she tests negative for COVID-19 and asks for thoughts and prayers.
Rep. Shurtliff taught school for more than 30 years. She served in the Utah House of Representatives from 1999-2008 and then ran again in 2018 and won. She also won re-election in November.
U.S. Representative Rob Bishop also suffered a small stroke today. He has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Best wishes to them both.
