Labor union endorsements usually aren’t noteworthy, but the fact that a number of unions are backing Republican Craig Hall in House District 33 could be enough .
Hall, who is facing a tough re-election challenge from Democrat Liz Muniz, is pulling in endorsements and donations from a number of labor unions including:
- IBEW Local Union 57 – $500
- Utah AFL-CIO – $500
- Laborers’ Political League – $250
- Operating Engineers Local No. 3 – $500
Hall also has a sizable cash advantage over Muniz. At the end of the latest reporting period, Hall tallied $31,380 on hand to Muniz’s $1,288. If you do the math, that’s a 24-1 cash lead for Hall.
Because of those factors, we now believe Hall’s chances of hanging on to this seat have improved considerably.
