Will the Minimum Wage Be a Central Issue in the 2014 Midterms?

Ralph Nader says there's only one winning issue for Democrats this November – minimum wage.

The perennial third-party candidate says Democrats are "doomed" in the upcoming midterm elections unless they make the minimum wage the centerpiece issue for Americans.

Via Politico:

“If you’ve got the Republicans voting repeatedly in the House and the Senate against workers, against consumers, pro-war, pro-Wall Street, the Democrats should be landsliding them, but they’ve got to increase the urgency,” Nader said.

Democrats have “not [made] it a big enough issue,” despite polling that shows support from the public on raising the minimum wage to about $10 an hour, Nader said.

The Republicans are expected to keep and possibly expand their majority in the House, while the GOP needs to pick up six seats in the Senate to take control.
