Obama to Announce Executive Action on Immigration Thursday

It looks like President Obama's executive action on immigration will come on Thursday.

CNBC reports the president will make a statement about immigration in Las Vegas on Thursday and then announce his executive order on Friday.

President Barack Obama will make a statement on immigration on Thursday night, followed by a rally at a Las Vegas high school with Senator Harry Reid on Friday, two sources familiar with the situation told NBC News.

The president has been long expected to make an announcement that would protect up to five million unauthorized immigrants from the threat of deportation and provide work permits.

A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows just 38% of Americans favor Obama taking executive action on immigration.

Update: President Obama will make his announcement during a primetime address on Thursday night.
